Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head
Tonight we shall pay tribute to the stormy weather we've been having in Iowa City. It's been raining nearly every day so we'll be playing you two hours of songs about rain and storms. Because that's what's on our minds. We had the tornado sirens going off today, after all. As usual, the first hour will be tunes from the 60s and 70s while the second hour covers the 80s and 90s (and a few tracks from the 2000s). Tune in at 8pm!

Summer is here!
Summer is here, which means concert season is here! Joe and I plan to spend the summer seeing some great live music and bringing you two hours of tunes every Wednesday night from 8-10.
Tonight is our first show of the summer and we're kicking off a slight format change. We're still bringing you great tracks from the 60s and 70s for the first hour, but the second hour will now be tracks from the 80s and 90s. We'll still be choosing specific themes some weeks, but sometimes, like tonight, we're going to keep it a bit looser and just stick to those eras. We hope you enjoy!

Finals week!
First off, sorry this blog hasn't been updated in so long. I missed about a month of radio shows due to some things with my family. Joe ran the show solo during that time but we were back together last week.
Finals Week: We'll be playing you final tracks from albums this week in honor of finals week week at the University of Iowa. It's a topic we've done once or twice before and we've enjoyed a lot.
It should be fun. Tune in! Also! Klang and Mer http://klangandmer.blogspot.com/ will be doing the same theme on their show immediately following us. They always play great tunes, so tune in for 4 straight hours of amazing finals music.

Mission Creek Festival
It's that time of year again when the Mission Creek Festival hits Iowa City. It starts today and goes through April 3rd. There will be lots of great music and literary events throughout the week. At the same time KRUI will be doing a lot of fund raising (go HERE to donate) and having lots of in-studios with various artists from the festival. Normal programming will be on hiatus for the week (including Standing On The Verge), but be sure to tune in for all the Mission Creek festivities.
The festival! Check out their website here: http://festival.missionfreak.com/ for all the information you need, including the lineup and schedule.
There are a lot of great artists that I know little to nothing about, but here are some events I'm interested to check out this week. I planned to write something about some of the artists but due to some family health problems I have very little time. I'll be fortunate if I can even see these shows. I hope everyone has a great week and I apologize if this post looks a bit funky below.
